These terms apply when you book a sprint with App14, operated by Appetite Studio. They are written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.
1. What we agree to deliver
A working application, built to the scope agreed at kick-off, submitted to the App Store and Google Play within the fourteen-day sprint window, together with the deliverables listed on what's included.
Design is revised until you sign it off. Code is written after sign-off, not before.
2. What you agree to provide
- A single named decision-maker with authority to approve design and scope.
- Responses to questions and review requests within one working day during the sprint.
- Content, branding, and product data required for the build.
- Access to, or authority to create, your Apple and Google developer accounts.
Where these are not provided, the sprint timeline may move. We will tell you at the point it becomes a risk rather than afterwards.
3. Scope
Scope is agreed and recorded at kick-off. Work outside that scope is not included in the fixed price. Where you request something additional, we will either place it on a version-two list at no cost, or quote it separately, or agree with you what comes out of scope to make room.
We do not bill for changes without agreeing them with you first.
4. Payment
The price is the published price at the time of booking, payable in advance through Stripe. Prices are in pounds sterling.
Third-party costs, including Apple and Google developer fees, hosting beyond the first month, and any usage-based service charges, are paid by you directly to those providers and are not part of our fee.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel for a full refund at any time before we begin work on your project. Once the sprint has started, the fortnight has been committed and the refund window has closed.
Full detail is in our refund policy.
6. Intellectual property
You own the source code, the repository, the database, the developer accounts, and the store listings. Ownership transfers at creation rather than on completion or final payment.
We retain no licence over your application and charge no ongoing fee for its use. We may describe the work in general terms as a case study only where you have given written permission.
7. Support after launch
Thirty days of support is included from the date of store submission. This covers defects, crashes, and behaviour that does not match what was agreed. It does not cover new features, which are quoted separately.
8. Work we will not undertake
We do not accept projects on our no-go list, and we do not build games, heavy real-time systems, or products requiring clinical or financial certification we do not hold. Where a project falls into these categories, we will decline it and refund any payment in full.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with a sprint is limited to the fee paid for it.
We are not liable for outcomes that depend on third parties, including App Store or Play Store review decisions and timings, or for the commercial performance of your application.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
